Knit a stitch

Slip the knitted stitch over the top of the slipped stitch. This decreases your stitches by one. Then knit a stitch.

Row 2: Turn your knitting around to the wrong side (or WS). You will still have stitches remaining from the first row you did not use. That is OK and is the way it should be. Slip one stitch, purl the next 7 stitches.

Purl 2 stitches together (p2tog). This will decrease it one stitch. Then purl one stitch.

Row 3: Turn your work to the outside, or right side (RS) and slip1 stitch (sl1), knit 8 stitches (k8), slip slip knit (ssk), knit 1stitch (k1)
